Hi,
As you may know, default DNS settings in routers and android are most of the time the google's one, this is not providing any privacy at all, and not the best performing network, which also can be targetted by attacks.
Cyber war is a daily routine nowadays.
Using private DNS, means using TLS channel for your traffic, keeping it safe from malware, sniffing, and much more...
We recommend as primary one : Neustar DNS or quad9 (more infos). Second, Cloudflare.
In android devices
In settings connection, see if you have a private DNS feature, and insert a specific syntax of the wanted hostname :
rdns1.ultradns.net
Or
dns.quad9.net
Or
1dot.1dot.1dot.1dot.cloudflare-dns.com
At router level :
In your router, on the WAN setting, see if you have a private DNS feature, if yes, activate it, choose for instance :
rdns1.ultradns.net
as first DNS, for column IP, enter IP : 156.154.70.1
and second one if possible Cloudflare, column for IP, enter IP : 1.1.1.1, column hostname : 1dot.1dot.1dot.1dot.cloudflare-dns.com
If you have a setting about strict and opportunistic mode, test using both, and see if any issue arise soon or later, opportunistic may sounds the optimal one.
